We are two sisters with different life paths, even living in different countries, but united by a great shared passion for jewelry. And not just to wear them, but also to create them and bring other women the joy of feeling special.

Why Atelier Devi?

We've had the love of jewelry since we've known each other. When we were little we spent hours looking at my mother's and grandmother's jewelry. Grandma wore her pearl necklace, brooch and earrings to every family event. She was so elegant and special because she always thought of how to beautify what she wears with the help of jewelry. Our grandmother had a great influence on the jewelry we choose to wear or create.

The romance, the nostalgia that clients find in our jewelry comes from this reinvention of classic models, combined with the modernism of today's women from anywhere in the world.

What is the role of jewelry in a woman's outfit? What does it say about the person wearing it?

A piece of jewelry is meant to make the wearer feel good. The jewel is for her. To feel good about her, to feel that he made an effort for her that day. We do not believe that woman is an "object of adoration" for others, a kind of muse that must be a certain way to be liked or adored.

If we manage to make her feel good wearing our jewelry, we are happy. Jewelry that can immediately bring a bit of sparkle and style, without being pretentious or "overpowering".

How does the process of creating Devi jewelry work?

The jewelry is entirely made by us, at our workshop in Bucharest from durable materials.

We start a new collection by drawing the models we want to make. The ideas start from the special pearls that we find at suppliers, from older models that we want to reinvent or from the outfits that we could wear the jewelry with.

After this stage, we start making prototypes, which we wear at first, to make sure they fit well and are easy to wear.

All jewelry is made of durable materials: if gold, silver and spun gold are the "smart" choices for jewelry that last over time and are an investment that makes sense, pearls are the ones that conquered us and allowed us to give "soul" of our jewelry.

We have chosen to use exclusively natural and cultured pearls, which have organic shapes, making each gem unique.

Sustainability is a basic principle in our project. How exactly does it manifest itself?

We want to have as little impact on the environment as possible out of respect for nature and because we care about the future of our children.

Atelier Devi is a soul project and we want to feel good about every decision we make in the way we do business. 

Sustainability is not a choice, it is a common sense practice in business as in life.

• we only make products to order, which has meant that we have streamlined our operations to allow flexible allocation of materials between multiple jewelry designs
• we produce in small series. Raluca is the one who makes each jewel by hand. We've chosen to make less and better quality so we can charge a fair price for each piece of jewelry and not depend on selling large quantities of each design to be profitable
• We offer lifetime repairs on any product we make. Repairing a product is a thousand times better choice than buying a new product, because it requires much less natural resources.
• Our packaging has been 100% biodegradable from the beginning and is made from recycled materials.
• We are working on many initiatives to be implemented in the near future: 100% of operations to be "carbon neutral" is the biggest of them. We hope to have good news next year regarding this aspect.
